Champions of Caring at Germantown and Frankford High School
As part of the School District of Philadelphia's Department of Labor Grant School Climate program, Champions of Caring staff collaborated with Germantown High School and Frankford High School faculty, administration, students, and community partners to create a culture of caring that permeated the schools. Our goal was to reduce violence and bullying and promote a positive school climate where all students can succeed.
Participating teachers were involved in ongoing training in character education and service-learning methodology, and best practices from the Journey of a Champion curriculum. Champions of Caring offered a series of special events, leadership development opportunities, and incentives programs for students.
