What is the Champions of Caring Recognition Program?
The Champions of Caring Recognition Program provides
high school students with an opportunity to celebrate and be
celebrated for their service to the community. Each May at Drexel University the Recognition Ceremony brings together hundreds of people
from all over the greater Philadelphia region to honor teens
for making a difference.
Who can be a Champion?
Students in grades 8-12 from throughout the greater Philadelphia region who
have committed themselves to improving our community and who
complete the application process are eligible.
Why Should I apply?
All Champions have the opportunity to:
- Receive certificates of recognition and letters of recommendation for college or work
- Become part of the "Champions" family to meet and bond with teens who share similar values about service
- Become role models for your peers and community.
- Be eligible for scholarships and awards (Drexel University gives us a $10,000 per year scholarship for one Champion!)
- Be honored and recognized at special community celebrations, at school and at graduation
- Participate in conferences on service and social justice with dignitaries and local leaders
- Participate in special service events sponsored by Champions of Caring and other organizations
Once you are accepted as a Champion you are eligible to be part of the Ambassadors of Caring Leadership Program.
